Added Gratuity
How do you feel about a gratuity added automatically to your bill?

I don't like it because: If they are a bad waiter/waitress then its not fair to me because I can't determine their tip and if they are an excellent waiter/waitress then I would normally give them more than the amount added to the bill but they lose out because of the adjustment added to the bill.

Nope. I will always compensate based on performance. If tips are computed for me, then I will generally tip less, as a result of being excluded from the process. I tip at what the prices would have been typically without any specials, coupons, happy hour pricing, etc. so that the good servers are not penalized for the company's decisions. Hope others keep that in mind, too!

I tip a straight 15% for mediocre or lower service. Servers make so little money now, I don't think it's nearly as effective to penalize them by poor tipping than it is to give their manager some constructive criticism to pass on, as well as how much you WOULD have tipped them had they performed better. Regarding, precalculated tips, I don't like it either, but I don't think it's right to penalize good servers for management's decision. If they deserve 20%, 25%, I make sure they get it and not use the precalculated tip as an excuse to save some bucks.
